Highlights from a Highly Successful December 2025 Chilean Congress

At the December 2025 Chilean Cardiovascular & Surgery Congress held in Chile, representing North Carolina were physicians Dr. Prashant Bhave (Advocate Health/Wake Forest), Dr. Bart Imielski (Advocate Health/Wake Forest), Dr. Ryan Shea (UNC), and Dr. Aaron Prosnitz (Advocate Health/Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute), along with Amy Winiger, Atrium Health.

The North Carolina ACC Chapter was formally recognized during the closing ceremony by Sessions Chair, Dr. Hugo Verdejo. During the visit, Amy Winiger toured Chile’s largest cardiac hospital with Dr. Setaro Del Rio and José Villa, RN, the 2023 Bridging the Americas Nurse Champion, including a visit to the cardiac intensive care unit.
